Investment Details
UWA will invest $55 million to set up these campuses at existing private properties, marking its first physical presence in India as a Group of Eight university.​
The initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy 2020, fostering Indo-Australian academic ties through teaching, research, and industry partnerships.​
Strategic Locations
Mumbai will host the first campus, followed by Chennai, targeting hubs of innovation, technology, and education.​
These sites aim to enroll up to 12,000 students over 10 years, offering programs tailored to Indian needs with global opportunities.​
Leadership and Timeline
A high-level UWA delegation is advancing partnerships, with David Das appointed as COO for UWA India to oversee setup.​
The University Grants Commission has approved the expansion, positioning UWA amid India’s youth demographic of over 371 million aged 15-29.​
